From fall Saturdays filled with Cornhusker football to summer evenings listening to Cardinals baseball on the porch, sports have always been more than just entertainment for Joel — they’ve been a lifelong passion, a source of community, and a powerful way to connect with family and friends.

While his love for athletics extends to many sports and teams, four names have a special place in his heart: the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Denver Broncos, and the Milwaukee Bucks. Each has been part of his personal history in a unique way, shaping not only his hobbies but also how he approaches life.

For Joel, Nebraska football is more than a pastime — it’s a tradition, a heritage, and a way to stay rooted in the community he loves. Saturdays in the fall are sacred. From the moment he wakes up, the day is filled with the rituals that make Husker game days special: donning red gear, checking stats, discussing matchups with friends, and, of course, enjoying the buzz of anticipation before kickoff.

Joel has followed the Huskers through every high and low, from championship runs to rebuilding years. He respects the grit, work ethic, and dedication the program represents, values that mirror his own approach to life. Even in seasons when the win-loss record isn’t ideal, Joel sees every game as an opportunity — a chance for growth, for unexpected heroes to emerge, and for fans to unite in a shared love for the team.

Some of his most cherished memories involve bringing his children to Memorial Stadium, watching their eyes light up as they take in the Sea of Red, the booming Tunnel Walk music, and the roar of 85,000 voices chanting in unison.
